Arlene Mae Norfleet, 88, of Denver, died surrounded by her family on August 9, 2017, in her residence at Serenity House Assisted Living. She was born on May 2, 1929 in Gilcrest, CO to George E. and Eva K. Wiggett. She married Norman Glen Norfleet on April 3, 1948 in Socorro, New Mexico and they were married for more than 60 years. Arlene lived in Weld County up until the past 5 years. Arlene is survived by her daughters, Judy Paden (husband Kevin OâBrien) of Denver and Sharon Norfleet (husband Gary Baxley) of Louisville, and her son, Steven Norfleet of Lakewood; sister, Marian Neergaard of Bellvue, CO, brother, Jerry Wiggett of Loveland, CO; step-grandchildren, Patrick OâBrien and Colleen OâBrien, both of Denver; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Norfleet; sisters, Imogene Wiggett, and Helen Willadsen; and brothers, George Wiggett, and Harold Wiggett. Arlene worked for Fort Lupton school lunch services from the late 1960s until the early 1980s. She also worked for the House of Smoke in Fort Lupton in the mid-1980s until retiring in 1996. She enjoyed being outside, taking care of her yard, taking walks, and being with her family. Arlene was one of the founding members of Hillside Baptist Church in Greeley. Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Crossroads Church, 1115 1st St., Fort Lupton.
