Arlene O'Connor

Arlene O'Connor left this Earth on December 6, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Paul (Jim) O'Connor. Arlene is survived by her children Maureen, Kathleen (Alex), Kelly, Kacey (Lee), Michael (Kim); grandchildren Jessica (Thomas), Laura, Sean, Mary (Mark), Michael, Caitlin (Tom), Lillie, Patrick, Paris and Calder, and great grandchildren Grace, Declan and Wally, and a brother, Alpha Surprenant. Arlene faced her illness with an abundance of strength, faith, courage and positivity, just as she faced life. She fought valiantly and beat the odds by two years! No one was going to tell her when she was leaving! She was a wonderful craftswoman. Whenever you would walk into her home she was either behind one of her many sewing machines crafting a quilt for a special lucky recipient, or, in her chair, her hands busy with knitting, cutting out a pattern or hand stitching yet another masterpiece. Arlene was a woman of great faith and is now an Angel. Those that are lucky enough to be with her now have been given the honor of watching out for her and picking up all the straight pins that surround her heavenly chair! She was a wonderful mother, loyal friend, and generous spirit. She will be desperately missed by all. There will be a Visitation at 5:00 on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 O'Clock in the Evening ~ Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 ~ Ten-thirty in the Morning ~ St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 West Chatfield Avenue, Littleton, Colorado 80128.
