Augustine J. Vigil

October 15, 1928 — February 5, 2019

Augustine J. ""Gus"" Vigil of Thornton passed away on February 5, 2019.

Gus was born to Joseph and Lugarda Vigil on October 15, 1928.

Gus entered the United Sates Army on June 25, 1946 and upon honorable discharge her returned home to work several jobs and became a member of the Labor's Union.

On September 1, 1952 he married Rose Baca. They had four children Veronica, Teresa (Greg), Gregory (Amy), and Eugene (Elisa). They were also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren David, Maria, Eric, Anna, Isaac, Josiah, Nicole, Chris, Maliyah, Lauren, Brandon, Emily, Parker, Rachel, Denver, and Aspen.

Gus was an avid baseball and football fan, only when the Rockies and Broncos won. He was their worst critic, but also their most loyal fan ever. He was the happiest when he was around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought a light to his like that was so unbelievable. His life was extended by the love that they had shown him. Gus also loved to fish and golf. He loved working with his hands making wood figures and signs.
