Aurelio Trujillo

Aurelio (Dale) Trujillo, age 90, passed away peacefully in his home in Commerce City on December 7th, 2022. He was a graduate of Fowler High School and attended numerous colleges in his quest for knowledge. Aurelio joined the Air Force in 1952 and was stationed in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. His last assignment was at Goodfellow Air Force base in San Angelo, Texas where he met and married Lydia Cardona in 1957. He worked for Coors Ceramics in Golden, CO for over 35 years before he retired. Aurelio enjoyed bowling and working on cars as well as pursuing his passion to collect every model of vehicle that Chevrolet made in 1948. He also loved to travel especially with his wife, Lydia. He was very involved in his church where he and his wife instructed couples in “Evenings for the Engaged” and “Marriage Encounter”. While in Mississippi, he and his wife were leaders of the “Hispanic Ministry” and assisted the priests in ministry to prisoners at the local jail. He is survived by his wife, Lydia, their daughters Cynthia Green (David) and Debra Talamantez both of Arvada, his brother, Felix Trujillo (Ida) of Ft. Collins, Donna Howard of Arvada,10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Pauline Trujillo, and his brothers, Johnny, Domingo Jr., Richard and Rudy. Viewing will take place at Horan & McConaty on Monday Dec.19th from 4pm-8pm, with the Rosary beginning at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass Services will take place on Tuesday Dec. 20th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10:30am. Following the mass there will be a reception at the church hall. Burial Services will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery at 1:00pm.
