Austin Josiah Ferrin, 27, was born October 18, 1990 in Denver, Colorado at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was the fifth child and first son of Lorel Don and Cynthia Meredith Ferrin. He later was joined by a younger brother to complete the Ferrin Family.
Austin spent his formative years in Centennial, Colorado and attended Timberline Elementary, Thunder Ridge Middle School, and Eaglecrest High School in the Cherry Creek School District. He graduated from Eaglecrest High School in 2009. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and skateboarding. He loved scouting and obtained his Eagle Scout award with 2 Palms and Order of the Arrow before ever receiving his driver's license. He participated twice on Philmont expeditions in New Mexico. Austin has always had a passion for music. He sang in advanced school choirs, with a special talent for âbeat boxing'. At a young age he obtained a work permit so that he could work at Villa Pizza. He worked several jobs in the sales and restaurant/bar industry and was currently working in construction with No Mas Construction. He had a strong work ethic, great customer service skills, and won many top sales awards. His personality and sense of humor kept everyone laughing and smiling. He loved spending time with others, and was a kind and gentle spirit who gave the best hugs.
Austin struggled with addiction for many years and ultimately lost his battle on Sunday, July 15th, 2018. He was surrounded by his family when he passed.
Austin is survived by his parents, Lorel and Cyndi Ferrin of Centennial; four sisters: Aubrey (Patrick) Tutko of Aurora; Hillary (Mike) Chatterton of Cibolo, Texas; Meredith (Ryan) Foltz of Parker; Whitney Johnston of Centennial; and one brother: Janzen (Noelle) Ferrin of Rexburg, Idaho. He also is survived by nine Nephews: Iman, Kaden, Jahan, Carter, Carson, Jake, Owen, Luke and Oliver; six Nieces: Aunika, Hailey, Caitlyn, Rachel, Brooklyn and Loralei.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Maxine Meredith and Howard and Jessie Ferrin and nephew, Cian Tutko.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5175 S. Picadilly Street, Centennial, CO at 11:00 AM. Viewing from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service.
Our family would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff at New Beginnings Recovery Center and the staff of the ICU at Swedish Hospital for their great care. We'd also like to express our sincere gratitude to the many family members and friends who have reached out to him and our family to show their love and support the past several years.
