Avalina "Ava" Marie Polson

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Avalina "Ava" Marie Lombardi Polson, who peacefully passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Ava was cherished by all who knew her.

Avalina was born to Fiore & Maria Lombardi on April 30, 1941, in Denver, Colorado. Married James Leroy Polson in August of 1959. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ava’s passion for life was evident in her warm smile and her unwavering support for her family and friends. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and her ability to make everyone feel special.

She was a proud member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed participating in community events and activities. Avalina’s pride besides her family was donating and helping the needy including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Avalina held many positions of employment besides being an incredible mother including positions at Clear Creek Care Center, EJ Plumbing, Western Fasteners, Colorado Doorways and multiple department stores and was loved and respected by all.

Avalina is survived by her loving family including her sister, Amelia Salvato, her 5 children: Christine (Eric) Everson, James (Debbie) Polson, Carla (Keith) Rigli, Mark (Tara) Polson, Marla (John) Zubrinic, 15 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation - Northwest, 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003. A rosary will follow from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80211. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Avalina’s memory.
