Barbara D. Bryant

The world has lost a beautiful soul, and while our hearts ache we are comforted by the knowledge that she - Barbara, mom, grandma, great-grandma - is at peace. Barbara Bryant, a child of the depression era, grew up in Arizona. Her father worked for the railroad and her mother was a teacher. Barbara was an excellent student - salutatorian of her high school class - and was offered a scholarship to college. However, she was not encouraged to go to college, and instead she stayed home to help her mother. It was not long before she began dating a handsome young man with eyes as blue as hers. They soon married and had three daughters. Barbara was an accomplished baker and seamstress who enjoyed reading, art, gardening and perhaps most surprisingly, football. She was proud of her experiences in all forms of artwork, featuring watercolor and pottery. She also expanded her mentoring beyond her own children as a Sunday School teacher trained in Christian education. Over the years, Barbara lived all over the American west and travelled literally all over the world. She is well remembered by all wearing navy blue pumps with her hair done to perfection, lipstick on and singing ”I Left My Heart in San Francisco” while filling the hummingbird feeder. Barbara Bryant will be dearly missed by her three daughters, five grandchildren, 11 - soon to be 12—great grandchildren and many many friends. Rest in Peace dear sweet Barbara.
