Barbara H. Fabian

Barbara H. Fabian, 80, beloved wife and mother, departed this life into the arms of our Lord on May 31, 2013. Born March 17, 1933 she is the youngest of 5 children. Being the youngest and only girl to 4 older brothers, she began at a young age to develop her strong will and sense of independence that carried her through life even unto the end. Barbara had a zest for life and was a fighter. She loved to serve others and always cared for those in need. Barbara had many hobbies including, crocheting clothes for Barbie dolls, stocking caps and scarfs, afghan's and other items. She also loved to knit and sew. Other hobbies included singing in the church choir, bowling, Den Mother, and collecting knick-knacks and other treasures. She had a love for cats and was always one to take in a stray or two, sometimes to the chagrin of her husband. Barbara will always be remembered for her compassion for people. It was not unlike her to meet someone for the first time only to come away knowing his or her full life history by the time the conversation ended. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth (1964) and Henrietta Howe (1968) She is survived by her husband James L. Fabian Sr., son James L. Fabian Jr. and his wife Kathi; daughter Dawn Elaine Fabian; brothers Kenneth, Robert, John, and William Howe; grandchildren, James Andrew and his wife Lindsey, Jeana Lynn, Joseph Allen, and Joshua McDandle Fabian; and great-granddaughter Peighton Jade Fabian A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, 2:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003.
