Barbara Jean Gonzales

Barbara (Fischer) Gonzales, 64, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2011. She is survived by her husband Phillip, son David, daughter Jodi (Davis) Hyatt, son-in-law Justin Hyatt, grandchildren; Nicholas and Sophia. She is also survived by her sister Connie (Don) Klein of SD, brother Russ (Carol) Fischer of SD, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Selma and Nicholas Fischer, and infant son Kevin Davis. Barbara worked as a bookkeeper at Emily Griffith Opportunity School for 19 years. The friendship of her co-workers and the students brightened her days. Early in her career, she taught parenting skills and preschool classes. She also worked in the transportation industry. Barbara was an avid quilter and seamstress. She was a second mother to many young people. Barbara had a beautiful smile to share with everyone. If you spent any time with her you grew a special connection with her. She was a woman of great faith and will be deeply missed. Visitation July 5th, 5:00 -7:30pm at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth. Service July 6th, 11:00am at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2300 South Patton Court. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
