Barbara Kriz

Barbara Kriz died April 2, 2014 in Denver, CO after a long battle with cancer. Barbara was born on June 18, 1937 in Lead, SD to Walter and Hazel Ritchie. She attended schools in Lead, graduating in 1956. Following graduation from Parker Business College in Denver, CO she married Jack Kriz. She and Jack had two sons, Michael and John. Barbara spent her working years at the Denver Agency, ultimately becoming a co-owner of the agency. After a successful career, she retired in the early 2000s. She is survived by her sons Michael of Seattle, WA and John of Steamboat Springs, CO, John's wife Katy, as well as her beloved grandchildren Steven, Melissa, Rory and Maggie. Also surviving is her sister, Elaine Emery, her husband James Emery and special nephew David Emery and his wife Deanna of Rapid City, SD. Her love of travel, exuberance for life, and unconditional love for all her friends and family will be eternally remembered and missed. A Memorial Service will be held 4 pm Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Horan and McConaty, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80246.
