Barbara May Moran

August 26, 1932 — June 22, 2020

Barbara was born in Denver on August 26, 1932 to William and Kay May. She grew up in East Denver. She attended Loyola Catholic School and Cathedral High School. She pursued her higher education at Loretto Heights College in Southwest Denver.

Barbara married her high school sweetheart, John R. Moran, Jr. on August 8, 1953. After John's Navy service Barbara and John settled in Denver's Parkhill neighborhood where they raised their six children.

Barbara had many interests and many friends. She was an avid tennis player, skier, lover of arts, an artist and, Master Gardener. She also enjoyed playing bridge with dear friends. She took great joy in entertaining her friends and family with her impeccable culinary skills. Every delicious meal was curated to the last detail. The last detail being a sumptuous dessert.

Of all Barbara's interests, her faith and family came first. Her faith was quiet and unyielding. She was deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother and continued her daily rosary despite her failing health.

Her family was her greatest joy. Nothing made her happier than to have her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren around her at any time.

Barbara will be forever missed by her family and her many friends, especially her husband John. They would have celebrated 67 years of marriage in August. Barbara died in the same manner that she lived her life, with beauty, grace and dignity, surrounded by her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband John, her six children and their spouses, nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, William J. May, Kathlyn K. May, and her brother, Brother William J. May, C.S.C.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph be with you on your way. We love you.
