Barbara Ann Heney Pearson

Pearson, Barbara Ann Heney August 22, 1936 - March 20, 2006 Passed away in her home after a short illness. Although cancer surprised us and engulfed her within the last few weeks it never diminished her spirit, her smile nor her sense of humor. She is survived by her four children Clifford (Carol) of Houston, Rockwell (Doris) of Denver, Maria of Denver, and Brooks (Jennifer) of Boston; six beloved grandchildren Kelsey, Katie, Hannah, Rachel, Zachary and Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Lee Pearson. Born and raised in Seattle, WA where she attended Forest Ridge Catholic School. She then attended the University of San Diego where she met Greg Pearson, whom she married in 1959 after graduation. Barbara enjoyed traveling overseas, seeing new places, and meeting new people. Recent travels included Cambodia, Singapore, England, Thailand, Costa Rica, Lesotho, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, New Zeland, and Malaysia; and spending time in Boston & Houston with family. Beside her family another important part of Barbara's life was volunteering for many organizations. She was active in The Sacred Heart Alumni Association; Denver Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee; involvment in her parish, Church of the Risen Christ, as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Serra Club; Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic; monthly blood platlet donations at St. Joseph's Hospital; composting at Denver Urban Gardens; and her avid support of Inter-Faith Community Services. Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, bragging about them endlessly. Rosary Wednesday, 7:00 PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver.
