Barbara Jean Polk

Barbara Jean Polk, 54, of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, May 29, 2020, with her family by her side. Barbara was born August 9^th, 1965 to James and Dora Sinner of Gering, Nebraska. Barb attended and graduated from Gering High School, followed by completion of her degree at the Colorado Institute of Art-Denver. Barb went on to enjoy work in the field of Graphic Design. Shortly, after marriage, Barb started her own firm known as Chateau Graphics. Self-employment gave her the flexibility to bridge her work & a new Family. Later, Barb also started Lilac Cookie Shop LLC, a custom/high end Cookie company. Here, she could incorporate her love of cooking with Artistic design.

On August 19, 1991, Barb was married to Chris Polk of Denver, CO. This began a wonderful 28 year love affair that produced two sons, Garrett (02/06/1996) & Justin (05/18/1999) Polk. Throughout their marriage, Barb continued to pursue her passion as an artist and gourmet cook. However, she was best known as an amazing Wife & Mother. Barb started every day with an undeniable contagious smile. She brought Beauty & Joy to all she touched. She was truly loved by all.

Barb is survived by her husband: Chris Polk, children: Garrett and Justin, her parents: Jim and Dora Sinner and her sister Terri Pittman.

In honor of Barb, a Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 11 2020, 2:30PM at St. Mark Catholic Church (9905 Foothill Canyon Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129).
