Barbara E. Rubba, 87, passed away comfortably and peacefully, on July 17, 2024, in Denver, Colorado after a courageous fight against a terminal illness. A Committal Service will be held for the family at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with interment alongside her husband of nearly 50 years, John N. Rubba.
Mrs. Rubba was born March 8th,1937, in Hammonton, New Jersey to Emma and Thomas Delker. She graduated from Hammonton High in 1955 and went to work at WB Kessler manufacturer until she married her school sweetheart, John Rubba. He was in the U.S. Air Force Band and over the years, they were stationed across the United States and in Ramstein, Germany. In 1968, the Air Force transferred the Rubba’s to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs where they remained for 20 years. While residing in the Springs, Barbara was employed as a keypunch operator for the International Typographical Union (ITU). After John’s retirement, they moved to Denver, CO in 1992, and then to Aurora, CO where they resided for many years.
During her active years, Barbara enjoyed home cooking, bowling, small crafts, cleaning, watching baseball games, cheering for the Denver Broncos, and entertaining friends. She loved to decorate her home for every holiday and special occasion.
Barbara was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and home to many friends, neighbors, and military families over the years and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her two children Dennis Rubba (Cheryl Rubba) and Denise “Michelle” DeLorme (Tim Palmer), five grandchildren, one great grandson and sister, Shirley Elliott.
