Barry ""Behr"" G. Smith of Englewood, CO passed away on January 13, 2011. Born October 12, 1951 to Grette E. Smith, who was a Homemaker and Grant B. Smith, an Electrical Engineer for Public Service Company. Behr is survived by his sisters, Valerie (Bill) Briggs of Golden and M'Lissa Smith of Littleton; brothers, Jay (Jacque) Smith of Westminster and Phil Smith of Dumont; nephews Christopher and Jason Briggs; and niece, Allison Foster. As a teen Barry enjoyed being part of Outward Bound, and later, National Outdoor Leadership School. Working for Robinson Brick Company as a Clay Prospector, leading their research and development, and through land lease & mineral rights endeavors, Behr continued his pioneering spirit. Behr's life was a constant demonstration of fierce integrity and dedication to family and friends. Those of us who had the honor of having Barry for a friend or brother are certainly better people for it. A true man, Barry was equally tough and tender - just as the nature he so loved. Words cannot match the robust, contagious goodness of his example. Behr's deep laughter, wisdom, and appreciation for all of life's gifts will be deeply, deeply missed, and always treasured. A private service is planned. The family asks that you take a moment to reflect on a special memory or shared laugh you have had with our dear brother, Barry. We love you, Behr!
