Beatrice (Betty) Binder Coxhead, our loving Mother and Grambea, and a wonderful friend to many, passed away peacefully on January 6th, at the age of 87. She was born in Oshkosh, WI to Edward and Rose Binder on June 9, 1922. After graduating from the Mercy School of Nursing in Oshkosh, Betty served as a nurse for the United States Navy, based in Corvallis, OR and Oakland, CA. After World War II, Betty flew as a stewardess for United Airlines. While based in Denver for United, she met John W Coxhead Jr (Jack), whom she married on June 10, 1950. Her husband Jack passed away in 1984. Betty belonged to numerous social organizations including Clipped Wings, a stewardess alumni organization, the Denver Country Club, and The Monday Forum, as well as numerous bridge groups, all which she enjoyed for many years. Betty was also active in school, church, and charitable causes at various times during her life. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Fintak and a brother, ""Butchie"" Binder . Her survivors include her son Steve and his wife Joni Coxhead, of Centennial, CO, her son John W Coxhead III of Denver, her son Tom and his wife Suzanne Coxhead of Denver, as well as five wonderful grandchildren Matt (Aimee), Abbe, Sarah, Betsy and Ali Coxhead. She is also survived by her loving brother Phil Binder of King, WI, and many nephews and nieces. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, January 11th at 10:00 am at the Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S Monaco Parkway, Denver.
