Beatrice Marie Hoxie November 11, 1930- August 12, 2016 Beatrice Marie Hoxie, 85, of Lakewood passed away on August 12, 2016. She was born November 11, 1930 to Howard and Marie (Eckard) Franks in Windsor, Colorado. She graduated from West High School in Denver and completed business classes at the Emily Griffith Opportunity School. She started her career as a bookkeeper at Mountain Bell, and worked for several other companies during her lifetime. In January 1950, Bea married T. Dale Schiemann, and they had one child. He passed away in 1954. In April 1956, Bea married Gilbert Lee Hoxie, and had four more children. Much of Bea's life was devoted to caring for her family and supporting her children's various activities. Gil passed away in 2006. Bea lived in Colorado her whole life. After growing up in Denver, she lived in Sterling and Colorado Springs. The last 46 years of her life were spent in Lakewood. She had life-long friends that she made through her involvement in Mountair Christian Church, Beta Sigma Phi, and Masonic organizations. One of her accomplishments was becoming Queen of El Mejdel Temple No. 47 Daughters of the Nile. Bea is survived by sisters and brother-in-laws: Edna Franks, Raymond Runyan, Howard and Dorothy Hoxie, and Charlene Schiemann. She is also survived by her children and their spouses: Lynn and Robert Waltman of Greeley, Lee and LeeAnn Hoxie of Salida, Carol and Gregory Geist of Littleton, Jay Hoxie and Sharon Hoover of Lakewood, and Duane and Christine Hoxie of Arvada. Her grandchildren include Brian and Kevin Geist, Rachel Waltman, Jack Hoxie, Tammy Hoover, Jennifer Richardson, and Peter Kullman. Bea also had five great-grandchildren. She has been a loving ""Aunt Bea"" to more than one generation of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at Horan&McConaty in Lakewood on September 2 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Horan&McConaty to the Daughters of the Nile Foundation, which supports the Shrine Hospitals for Children.
