Bertram Anton Frei

     Bertram Anton Frei, age 87, died peacefully in his home in Denver on June 20, 2023.
Bertram was born in Escholzmatt, Switzerland on January 20, 1936. In his younger years,
Bertram was a avid skier and cyclist. Bertram met his wife Mirka (Valencic) in Denver,
married in Slovenia and immigrated to the United States. In May 1972, Bertram and
Mirka, started the Alpine Sausage Company, in Denver, while they built their dream
home and raised a family, there by obtaining their American dream.

    Bertram is survived by his wife, Mirka, their daughter, Andrea (Scott) Hurlbert, their
eldest son, Norman Frei and twin sons, Henrik (Jennifer) Frei and Martin Frei. He is also
survived by six grandchildren, Andrew and Rebecca Hurlbert, Anthony Frei, Elliana,
Brielle and Ethan Frei, as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his parents and eight of his ten siblings.

     There will be a catholic mass held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00am at Risen Christ
Catholic Church. Following the mass, Bertram will be laid to rest at 12:30pm in Mount
Olivet Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Frei family would like a donation for
masses offered in Bertram Anton Frei’s name.
