Bette W. Huester

Bette W. Huester, 91, of Denver, passed peacefully February 16, 2012. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Leroy and Margaret Winters. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, she married her high school sweetheart, Alvin J. Huester. She had a successful career on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and the DAR. She loved to travel and volunteered at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and Wings Over the Rockies. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Karen (Jack) Simmons and son Bruce; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her sister Sallie Prince. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Alvin. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place May 21, 2012, 2:00 pm.
