Betty June Brannberg entered her heavenly home and was reunited with her beloved husband, Bob, at the age of 93 on March 19, 2020. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and generosity that shaped the lives of her three children and their spouses Marlene (Bill), Randy (Janet), and Barry (Judy), her seven grandchildren, their spouses, and fourteen great grandchildren. She was adored by all of them and there are so many great memories of her love of adventure with her family.
A Denver native, Betty graduated from South High and later attended Wheaton College in Chicago, where she met the love of her life, Bob, and they spent 69 years together, raising their family, and traveling extensively. Always passionate about learning, she earned an associate degree from Metropolitan State College later in life to pursue a career in counseling and worked with delinquent girls, providing comfort, guidance, and friendship.
During the winter months, she and Bob lived in Arizona, enjoying the warmer climate where they could bike, play golf, and she competed in tennis into her 80's. Always interested in each person she met, Betty made friends easily and often led Bible studies in her neighborhood and churches. Painting and pottery were some of her hobbies as well as reading extensively and being outdoors, especially at the cabin in Evergreen.
Life was at times difficult as Betty experienced many childhood illnesses (scarlet fever and tuberculosis), the depression, World War II, the loss of a baby (Mary Marie), and Bob's death, but her solid faith in God, her love of studying the Bible , and her extensive connection to family and friends gave her the foundation to reach out and touch many lives. She will be deeply missed by all those who were privileged to know and love her.
Betty passed away from natural causes surrounded by her loving family. The memorial service has been delayed until further notice due to the Coronavirus.
