Betty Carey

March 18, 1940 — July 17, 2022

Betty L. Carey has moved on to rest in peace with the love of her life, Theodore Borrego, Sr. of Layfette, Colorado.

Proceeding Betty in death includes:  Father Clell S. Carey and mother Ida “Duncan” (Richards) Carey, two siblings brother Marion Carey and sister Vivian McFarland Carey, and son Troy Vincent Borrego, Sr.

Betty is survived by her sons Theodore Borrego, Jr., Todd M. Borrego, and Terry Borrego. Many nieces and nephews from both sides of the family, 10 grand children and 19 great grandchildren- In her loving memory.

Betty was an accomplished career woman retiring at age 76 from 25+ years of sales for Merit Equipment. She earned the title of “National Sales Rep” and “Million Dollar Woman” as she was the 1st woman in the company to achieve a million dollars in sales. For this achievement she earned rewards of a celebration as well as a Rolex watch to mark the occasion.

Betty was also a world traveler adventuring to places such as Greece, Ireland, England, and Rome to name a few of her favorite destinations.  Even with a lively career and pursuits of travels, Betty found the time to be with her family especially her four sons and their children.

As we celebrate Betty’s life, all will miss her dearly, and will always keep her in our hearts.

Services will include:  A private viewing for the family on August 2nd, 2022 from 1:30 - 2:30PM.

A Public Ceremony for family and friends will begin on August 2nd 2022 at 2:30PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Blvd Denver, CO 80211.

A Celebration of Bettys life will continue at The Village Pub, 9150 Huron Street, Thornton, CO 80260 until 7:00pm.

Betty will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on August 3rd at Fort Logan National Cemetery, next to the love of her life.
