Benita "Betty" Ontiveros Gomez passed away on August 7, 2005, in Centennial, Colorado. She was born April 14, 1929, in Midvale, Utah to Julian and Marcelina Ogas Ontiveros. Betty married Guadalupe "Pete" Richard Gomez and they celebrated 50 years together this past February. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served as a missionary in the Mexico Mission; worked in her Ward as Relief Society President; Young Women's Secretary; Visiting Teacher; Visiting Teacher Supervisor; and as a Temple worker. She is survived by her loving husband, Pete Gomez of Centennial, CO; son, Steve; daughter, Laura (Scott) Gomez-Weakley of Littleton, CO; son, Larry of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Jason Gomez, Jackson, and Lucy Nell Weakley; brothers and sisters, Manuel, Andrew, Jim Ontiveros, Gloria Torres, Tilley Gomez, all of Salt Lake City, UT. Betty was preceded in death by two sons, David and Jeff Gomez. Betty is loved by many and will be truly missed. A Funeral Service will be held in Colorado on Wednesday, August 10th, 11:30am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1939 East Easter Avenue, in Littleton. A viewing will be held at the Church from 10:00-11:10am. An additional Funeral Service will be held in Utah on Saturday, August 13th, 10am, at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday evening, 6-8pm, and on Saturday, from 9:00-9:45am, just prior to the services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, in West Valley City, Utah. Memorial donations may be sent to Porter Hospice, 7995 East Prentice Avenue, Suite 204, Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111.
