Betty Josephine Massey

Betty Josephine Massey of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on April 2, 2011. She was born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Dora and Fred Talley on December 24, 1924. She had three brothers and three sisters who all preceded her in death. At the age of 16, she began singing in the chorus of the Central City Opera where she met her beloved husband, Royden S. Massey, Jr. In 1943 she graduated from North High School and married Royden, who preceded her in death in 1976. She is survived by their three daughters; Carole Massey and Sherry Niemann of Littleton, Colorado and Linda (Bart) Tarman of Santa Barbara, California. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Angela (Tarman) Mietzke, Casey Kercher, Jason Tarman, Jaimi Jo Kercher and Joel Tarman and four great grandchildren; Caleb, Jordyn, Nyrie and Abigail. Betty died as she lived, with a faith in Jesus that has inspired her family and friends. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 3:00pm at West Bowles Community Church, 12325 West Bowles Avenue, Littleton (church reception following).
