Betty L. Meloney-Carlson

Betty Meloney-Carlson, 96, died Thursday, February 24th, 2011 in a Gering, NE nursing home. Born Betty Lillian McKoewn in Belfast, Ireland on November 20th, 1914 to Susan Hamilton & Samuel McKeown. She married Evan Garton Meloney March 28th, 1936 in Haxtun, CO. Betty moved to Denver, CO in 1968 where she worked and later retired from Children's Hospital. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and dancing where she met her second husband Vernon Carlson. She moved to Gering, NE in 2005. Survived by two sons Evan (Marcia) Meloney of Ft. Collins, CO and Sam (Sandi) Meloney of Gering, NE; 3 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Evan Meloney, husband Vernon Carlson, and brother Samuel McKeown. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 11:00 am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora with burial following at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, CO.
