Betty L. Mitchell

Betty L. Mitchell, age 85, a resident of Denver, Colorado, Passed away on May 8, 2019.

Betty was born and raised in Denver. She graduated from East High School with a scholarship to Denver University. She married Tom Mitchell, and they raised three daughters. Betty loved and adored her family, and was the perfect hostess to any family gathering. She loved the family cabin, reading, music…especially opera…and the arts, and traveling, She had a long career as a secretary working for the Denver Public Schools, Health Services Department.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest T. Mitchell and daughter Connie Haase. She is survived by her other daughters, Judy Trotter and Colleen Jepkes, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado, 80227. Committal will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 2 p.m., Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “A”.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Operation Smile, providing cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children worldwide.
