Although born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on March 6, 1922, Betty always considered Denver, Colorado to be ""home."" She graduated from Denver's East High School and furthered her education at the University of Colorado and the University of Denver. Betty married Kenneth W. Neudeck at the chapel on Lowry Field on December 12, 1943 beginning an exciting life of moving to numerous locations while raising three children. Ken and Betty returned to the Denver area upon Ken's retirement in 1978 and settled in Littleton. Ken and Betty's 65 years of marriage was curtailed by his passing in 2009. In her final breaths she stated that she wanted to go dancing with Ken and that he would be getting her soon—a true testament to everlasting love. Community service was always a very important component of her life including the Roxbury Women's Club in New Jersey, the Davenport Art Gallery in Iowa, and The Heritage Art Guild of Arapahoe County in Colorado. Betty was active in American Legion Auxiliary and Sertoma. She was also instrumental in starting up libraries and scholarships throughout the country considering further education to be paramount to success. Art, especially oil and watercolor painting, became a great joy, but her greatest love during her retirement years was for her three grandchildren Sean Walsh, Mark Gefreh and Tasha Gefreh and her two nephews Brian Watt and Kevin Watt.
