Betty Wolf

September 4, 1925 — December 9, 2020

Mom, Wife, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother

Mom was born in Mattoon, Wisconsin in 1925, the youngest of 5 daughters and 2 sons. It is there where she met and married Bennie Wolf at the age of 17. Shortly after marriage Bennie went to war with the US Army and soon thereafter Betty had her first child, Patti in 1942.  Her second child, Nancy was born in 1947, and at that time the family moved close by to Waukegan, IL.  After that move, many of the brothers & sisters would come over and build our house. Betty was employed during that time by Abbott Labs. of Chicago for 25 years.

In 1984, Betty and Ben moved from Waukegan to the Denver area of Colorado be close to their daughter Nancy, and her family which included husband Hal, son Shan, and Hal's sons Kirk, Dean, Brian, and Alan. It is there in Aurora that Betty and Ben spent the rest of their lives. Ben passed on in 2014.

Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Patti and husband Rudy; Nancy and husband Hal; Grandson Shan and wife Christie; Great-Granddaughters by Shan- Kristina and husband Kenny, Heather, and Stephany and husband Patrick; great-great-granddaughters Aspen, Brecklyn, and Kensley.

Betty was an avid hobbyist who loved her dolls. She has over the years collected in excess of 300 for which she made their costumes, much the same as she did for her 2 daughters, and she would make matching shoes, and even give them hairstyles. She would get them at yard sales & other places. At different times she donated them to church orphanages for Christmas.

Other of her enjoyments came from preparing for Christmas and other holidays, when she made cookies, ice cream and a variety of candies. Come summer and fall we went strawberries picking, and did canning.

The major source of pride for both Betty and Bennie was their only Grandson Shan. They were supportive in his upbringing and development, and they were so proud of the businessman he became as owner of a successful automotive repair business in Aurora.

We will all miss and lovingly remember Betty and Ben as the warm and devoted parents of the family described above.
