Betty Sue Worland passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, with family by her side. She went home for Christmas and to be with her beloved husband, Wayne. Betty was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 21, 1927 to Emanuel and Louise Shockey. Betty was employed at Beta Sigma Phi international headquarters in Kansas City for several years, and was an active member receiving 60-year membership recognition in 2005. She was a member in chapters in Kansas City, Missouri, and Northglenn and Longmont, Colorado. Her heart for service was evident during of her life. She was a volunteer for the Northglenn Ambulance Corp. for four years, served as a volunteer for Life Choice Pregnancy Center for ten years, and a teacherâs aide at Longmont Estates Elementary School. Betty served as a deacon at Westview Presbyterian Church and most recently was an usher and on the hospitality committee at Longs Peak United Methodist Church. She enjoyed piano, reading, gardening, bridge and sewing for her granddaughters. Betty and Wayne traveled extensively both in the United States and internationally. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, parents, an infant brother and her sister, Joanne. She is survived by her son, Mark; daughter, Kathy; son-in-law, Gary; granddaughters, Sara, Amanda and Stephanie; grandson-in-law, Clay; and great grandchildren, Bailie and William. She will be so dearly missed. A Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst, Longmont, Colorado.
