Bettye Irene Rivera

Bettye Irene Crews Rivera, aged 81, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2016 at Collier Hospice Center at Lutheran Medical Center. She was born in 1934, in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of Verda (Cowart) and Hugh Crews. Bettye enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and avid Broncos fan. She was united in marriage to Marcel Rivera for 62 years. She is survived by her husband, Marcel, children Linda Rivera (Ed Dawson), Tammy (Dan) Berberick, Marcelina Rivera, and Michael Rivera (Kelley Sheridan) along with her four grandsons, Andrew Berberick, Alejandro Rivera Katz, Francisco Rivera Katz, Matthew Berberick, and other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 am at Horan and McConaty Mortuary at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado. A reception will immediately follow. Our mother's final resting place will be in Savannah, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The American Kidney Fund and the American Transplant Foundation, Patient Assistance Fund. Our mother also enjoyed being an avid member of a Bookclub, tutoring children at the schools in reading and English and making fantastic traditional Mexican dishes for the family. *There are several hotels on Wadsworth and Hampton (hwy 285) that are within a few minutes driving distance from the memorial service.
