Beverly ""Bev"" Odette Anderson, age 88, passed away peacefully in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on February 11, 2017. She was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Samuel E. Anderson who died on April 13, 1993. Born in Red Oak, Iowa on October 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Oscar Carlson and Naomi Ruth (Warnaca) Carlson. She attended a one-room country school through eighth grade. Beverly was a graduate of Villisca High School, Class of 1946, where she was in the Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, Girl Reserves, Dramatics, Volcano Staff, and Librarians' Club. She attended college in Indianapolis and later in Denver. She became a certified Chiropractic Assistant and assisted her husband in his practice for many years. Beverly grew up with baseball and remained a lifelong fan. She enjoyed watching Rockies baseball, the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Broncos. She was a talented seamstress, a former member of the Arvada Garden Club, the Arvada Women's Club, and several women's auxiliaries. Beverly was an avid reader. She enjoyed long daily walks, gardening and traveled extensively. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years and was active in her community in Strasburg, CO. Love, tolerance, charity, compassion and faith were the values she lived by and taught to her family by example. She accepted God when she was six years old and her faith never wavered. She was a charter member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bennett, Colorado. Beverly was dedicated to her family and friends, and attended every school and sporting event of her grandchildren. She was the family historian and an accomplished amateur photographer, documenting each and every family moment. She never met a dog or cat she did not like and they returned that devotion. Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of her life are her children, Phillip Anderson and his wife, Mary, Julie Young and her husband, Jeffrey, and Paul Anderson and his wife, Dee; her eleven grandchildren, Chetnahea ""Chet"" Williams, Kwi'lah and Richard Schneider, Miranda Anderson and her fiancee Jacob Lapenna, Samantha and Luis Suarez, Erik Anderson, Angel and Dan Vanlaningham, Andrew Bianco and his girlfriend Lindsey Swisher, Jamie and Leya Nossal, Derek Nossal, Matthew Nossal and his long-time companion Michelle, and Todd and Ayano Nossal; her nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her brother Merlin Carlson and his wife Marilyn, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Thomas Anderson, and her sister and brother, Mildred Freeman and Leonard Carlson. For guests attending only the Interment service at Fort Logan, please arrive at Staging Area B by 2:15PM.
