Beverly Harwood Realtor Beverly Vera Prinn Harwood, 78, passed away May 12, 2004 in Aurora, Colorado. Born in Lyndonville, Vermont on March 12, 1926 to William Charles Victor and Dorothy Matilda (Cox) Prinn. Her passion for singing started in the choir at St. Peters Episcopal Church when she was young. Summers were spent at Old Orchard Beach, Main with their Canadian cousins. The combined musical talents of Beverly's voice, and Agnes Sears' gifted piano playing were requested throughout their high school years. High school summers she worked with friends at an exclusive hotel in Main. She graduated from Linden Institute in 1944. She taught art at Linden Institute from 1944-45. She married Robert I. Harwood in December 23, 1945 and relocated to Providence, Rhode Island. In November of 1946 daughter Dorothy was born. In October of 1950, son Douglas was born. In 1951, Bob re-enlisted in the Air force and the family went to Guam. 1953, she preformed with the USO tour, Just Rhythm, which toured Japan. At the same time they performed on the Aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. In 1955, she was the choir director of Methodist church in Sacramento, CA. In July of 1956, daughter Debbie was born. In 1957 the family went to Japan. In 1958 she was first VP of the Officers Wives Club at Yokota Air force base. Bev took Chinese cooking classes in downtown Tokyo. In 1960, the family moved to Hamilton Air force base in Marin County CA, where she decorated cakes and gave many fabulous parties. In 1965, a big turning point in her life, she left her heart in San Francisco and moved to Colorado. In 1966, she got her real estate license. She was a Residential Sales Advisor, with Chy Harris Reality in Aurora, CO. In 1967 she was named Aurora Area Business and Professional Woman of the Year. In 1969 She then went to work for Mansfield Reality where she stayed for many years. She was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club from 1977-1979. From 1977 through 1990 she was blessed with eight grandchildren. She retired from real estate to spend more time with her family and to pursue her other passions of painting, photography, and travel. She and her husband Bob enjoyed their last years at Heather Gardens participating in many of the available activities, enjoying visits from their family, and keeping up with the many adventures. She is survived by her three children Dorothy Swisher, Douglas Harwood, and Deborah Ronan; eight grandchildren; her sister Thelma P. Richardson; her brother The Reverend Ronald P. Prinn; and several nieces and nephews. Her beloved husband Lt. Col. Robert I. Harwood preceded her in death July 23, 2003. The Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday the 17th of May at 8:00 AM. Funeral Service begins at 9:00 AM. Both ceremonies will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3201 S. Parker Rd., Aurora, CO 80014. Private Interment will take place at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
