Bill Frank Robertson, age 99, passed away at home on March 13, 2022. He lived a life of service to his country and his family. He served as quartermaster on the submarine Cavalla (AGSS-244) during World War II. The Cavalla was involved in the Battle of the Philippine Sea known as "The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot." His submarine was responsible for sinking one of the flagships of the Japanese navy, the Shokaku, which was involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor. After WWII, he started and ran a successful dairy in Littleton, CO. At the same time, he managed a meat market for Miller Grocery and eventually supervised five meat markets for Target grocery stores. He excelled as a salesman. His childhood experiences as a Newsie on 8th and Kalamath in Denver served him well as he was named "Salesman of the Year" for two years for Wilson Foods. He also was a successful salesman for Lloyd's BBQ. His true passion was real estate. He bought and remodeled several rental properties. With the help of his loving wife, June, he built a very successful business. Despite his incredible work ethic, he found time to go camping and fishing, often exceeding the legal limits. His motto was, "What goes on my hook, goes in my creel." Bill was an avid Bronco fan, holding season tickets since the early 1960's. He enjoyed traveling, and Alaska and Ireland were two of his favorite destinations. His quick and easy smile will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service with a luncheon will be held in his honor on April 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty (7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO). Burial services will be at a later date for family only.
