Bob Mclain

Bob J. McLain, 88, passed away on October 29, 2020. He was born to Marie Margaret Spencer and Thomas James McLain in Bartlett, NE on April 20, 1932.

Bob found joy and spread joy in everything he did. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his garden, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Bob was always involved in his community, especially at church. He helped maintain the property and volunteered to help with the summer BBQ. He was known to have breakfast at a local restaurant with some of the men from church. His ability to connect with people and leave a lasting impression, meant he was bound to know someone anywhere he went. This helped him in his work in selling Gourmet Meats, but also networking and always having a go-to person for anything and everything.

Bob will be remembered by his warm smile and the love for his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his children Kathy (Buz) Hedglin, Becky (Ken) Garry, Cindy Howard, and Tammy (Matt) Banks; his grandchildren Patty Howard, JJ Howard, Danielle (Jon) Syfrett, Josie (Peter) DeGoede, Kristy Garry, Corbin Matthews, and Xavier Matthews; his step-grandchildren Jaime Banks, Chase (Sky) Banks, and Jacob Banks; his great grandchildren Alex Daniels, Kayleb Daniels, Annabelle Syfrett, Scarlett Syfrett, Rose Syfrett, Joshua DeGoede, and Nate Howard; his siblings Earl McLain, and Burdette (Teen) McLain; several nieces and nephews; along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arlene Mae McLain (nee) Steiger; his parents; his brother Arnold McLain; and his great-grandson Felix DeGoede.

There will be a Memorial Service to honor Bob on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Due to the current health concerns, numbers will be limited. The family invites you to join the service electronically.
