Bob Petrie

Bob, 79, a 4th generation Coloradoan, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012. Bob worked in various local newspapers building his career and experience, before retiring from the Rocky Mountain News after 43 years. Bob kept a meticulous garden and yard and enjoyed fishing and camping with his family in his spare time. He also enjoyed doing some woodworking project. Most recently, Bob began exploring his family roots by researching his geneology. Bob's biggest passion was being with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy; sons, Bruce (Beverly) Petrie and Randy (Cindy) Petrie; grandchildren, Angie (Andy) Alvarado, Rebecca (Tommy) Russell, Derek (Amanda) Petrie, Jason (Jessica) Petrie, Troy (Rachael) Petrie, and Traci Petrie; great grandchildren, Isaiah Alvarado, Isabelle Alvarado, Tommy Russell, Jr., Sophia Petrie, Allison Petrie, Avery Petrie, Emily Petrie, and Benjamin Petrie; and one brother. Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2 PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton.
