Bobbie C. Cooper

June 25, 1941 — April 18, 2024

Thornton, Colorado

Bobbie Cynthia Cooper was born to Opal Mitten Ream and Robert W. Ream on June 25th, 1941. She closed her eyes to this world on April 18th, 2024, at the age of 82. A proud Colorado native, she was a graduate of Canon City High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado- Boulder in 1963. She then dedicated her professional life to civil service and social welfare, focusing on child protection in the later part of her career. She retired from the Adams County Department of Social Services in 1994 (and not a moment too soon, she would tell you).

Bobbie liked the outdoors and fancied herself somewhat of an amateur meteorologist. She enjoyed sophisticated music (like Willie) and a good television drama or sitcom. She loved all animals, but especially her kittens, to whom she provided a safe and exceedingly loving home (if you don’t like cat hair, feel free to visit someone else). She carried her concern for the welfare of both people and animals into retirement, and she supported numerous non-profits towards that end.

Bobbie is survived by her sister Billie R. Parmenter, son James A. Cooper, daughter in law Denise J. Cooper, grandsons Robert J. Cooper (Aryel Tuttle) and Jonathon A. Cooper, great-granddaughter Evelyn Rose Cooper, nephews Craig A. Parmenter and Vincent Ream, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia G. Snyder, her brother Thomas W. Ream and her parents.

A celebration of Bobbie's life will take place on May 19th, 11:00 am at her home, 13550 Washington St., Unit 3A, Thornton, CO.

Bobbie will be greatly missed by her family, fur babies, friends, and a community of caring neighbors. She would want you all to know that you were her greatest joy. We can further her legacy by making a donation to, or volunteering at, one of the organizations Bobbie loved.
