In loving memory of Bonnie Anne Bowman; March 25, 1941 - January 23, 2022. Bonnie is survived by her husband Arthur Bowman, six children; Paul (Lenore), David, Daniel (Buffy), Christina, Stephen (Lawanna), and Deborah (Joshua), twenty grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her sister Bernice Ferguson.
Bonnie had a wonderful, contagious smile, and liked to make others laugh. She loved to talk and to shop. Bonnie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and with her whole heart. She spent hours with her grandchildren, having them over to her house often for playdates and sleepovers. She always had plenty of food to go around; pancakes, hot dogs, Mac and Cheese. She never missed a birthday or holiday, always wanting to share her love with her family.
Bonnie had a passion for history, especially Colorado and western United States History. Her house is filled with antiques from different American time periods. Bonnie was a volunteer and employee at Four Mile Historic Park in Denver for over 25 years. She was the curator of the historic collection at Four Mile and enjoyed the time she spent there. More recently, Bonnie volunteered at 17 Mile Farm Park in Parker. She enjoyed teaching people of all ages about history and helping them to appreciate the past.
Bonnie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Church, the temple, and her God.
Born in Long Beach, California, Bonnie enjoyed the beach and warm weather. She had a passion for all things Hawaiian; music, clothing, flowers and especially the islands themselves. Bonnie found joy in traveling. She visited Hawaii, Mexico, Hong Kong, India, South Africa, the Bahamas, Australia, England, France, and Germany. She planned numerous trips for the whole family to enjoy throughout Colorado.
Bonnie leaves behind an amazing legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and kindness.
Send me flowers bursting with fragrance
before beauty is lost in time
Send me flowers when their soft touch
can still be felt by this old hand of mine
Fill my ears with words of love
before they echo alone in the dark
Tell me you love me and tell me you’ll miss me
long, long before we are forced to part
Today is the day we have for each other
today is the day our real love should shine
Today is a gift to be used for each other
to seal each memory now, forever, eternally yours and mine
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Denver Dumb Friends League: https://www.ddfl.org/
To share memories of Bonnie and condolences with her family, all are invited to share on the adjoining tribute wall. Thank you.
