Bonnie Ann O'Leary, Major USAF Retired

Bonnie Ann O'Leary, Major USAF Retired, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. She was born at Long Beach, California on June 23, 1922. Her parents were John Daniel O'Leary and Anna Norton O'Leary, both deceased. Her early schooling was spent in numerous schools where her father was stationed in the Marine Corps. She graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University, New York and spent the next few years in theater in New York City. She also worked in early live TV on the Robert Montgomery Presents and Pulitzer Prize Playhouse shows. In 1952, she was an early woman to enter the Air Force Officer's Training in San Antonio, Texas. The next 20 years were spent in bases as public relations officer, including three tours in Germany. After retiring in 1972, she moved to Denver as her home base. She was a world traveler, visiting 183 countries and many relatives in both the O'Leary and Norton families. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all. Donations in her memory may be made to the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA), Dept. 550, Washington, D.C. 20041-0560. Her mission was to have this built to honor women who have served in the military branches and she was instrumental in this endeavor.
