Brad Pott

November 10, 1962 — February 6, 2010

John Bradley ""Brad"" Pott, 47 years old, died suddenly Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home in Henderson, Colorado. Brad was born on November 10, 1962, to Ron and Mary Pott in Denver, Colorado. He was number six of eight children. He graduated from Denver Institute of Technology in automotive technology. Refurbishing engines, cars and trucks was one of Brads' passions. He married Teresa Robinson on April 21, 1989 in Lakewood, Colorado. Teresa had two kids when they were married and Brad always' thought of Adam and Sherice as his own. He loved his family and would do anything for them. Brad worked in the family business, R/W Specialties since he was a boy. In 1990, he began working there permanently, overseeing the mill, the warehouse, building maintenance and numerous other duties. The R/W Specialties family was such a large part of Brad's life. If anyone needed anything or had a question on any subject Brad was the ""go to guy"". He always knew the answer, and if he didn't he would find it out. He was a true Jack-Of-All-Trades! Brad had a great sense of humor and always had a smile. Brads rough Grizzly-Adams appearance could intimidate you if you didn't know him, but he was really just a teddy bear. Brad had many hobbies. He spent many hours restoring antique cars and trucks and Jeeps. Recently Brad purchased a totally refurbished 1950 Chevy Pick-up truck in Royal Blue which was his favorite color. He was so proud of his new addition that he said this is his new M. O. was to only buy the good stuff. His favorite vehicles to restore were Jeeps. Brad also loved flying radio controlled airplanes and spent many hours flying and had a substantial aircraft collection. Brad had the soul of an artist. He had a unique perspective and a rare gift in working with all woods. Brad could create almost anything from wood. He was simply an exceptional craftsman; the details of his designs were magnificent. He created elaborate replicas of cars, trucks, trains, fire engines and airplanes. He thoughtfully made one of these treasures for each of his siblings over the years. His parents were grateful recipients of many hand made gifts including one of Brad's favorites, a 3 foot long Steamboat he christened ""Pottluck""! He referred to his creations as his Labors of Love. Brad had a special connection with animals, especially dogs. His canine friends started with Sugarfoot, followed by Raggs, Clyde, Mercury, Magnum, Buffalo, Colt, Max, Clyde II, and last but not least are the smallest Dusty (as in dust mop) and Chewy as in (Chewbacca). Brad is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Sherice (Charlie); son, Adam (Toni); grandson, Jr.; seven siblings, Kathy (Bryan), Steve (Kerrie), Becky, Rick (Jana), Terri (Dave), Dan (Russanna), Shane (Tabi), and their families. Brad was preceded in death by both of his parents, Ron and Mary Pott; his grandparents Wayne and Hazel Pott, Walter and Mary Richards and many aunts and uncles. A Funeral Service for Brad will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 10am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122. A celebration of Brad's life will follow the service.
