Bradford P. ""Fordy"" Stevens

October 8, 1953 — November 21, 2013

Bradford P. ""Fordy"" Stevens was a force of nature. He was driven to create and problem solve his entire life, affectionately known as ""Fix it Fordy"" by his close family. A triple major at Bowdoin college in Maine (math, physics, computer science), he quickly moved on to make his mark in the automotive industry and he continued to do so during his working career. At age 22, Fordy was a Datsun dealer in Keene, New Hampshire. He also programmed an entire dealer management software system for this first dealership and, in the process, discovered a passion to which he would commit much of his career, ultimately leading to the creation of Dealer360. Fordy's proprietary software platform helped to drive the success of Berlin City, which was the first building block in the Summit platform. Fordy took great pride in the fact that his software was really built from the input and suggestions of the people working in the dealership. However, his modesty could never hide the fact that it was his brilliance that made it happen. Fordy was a devoted family man and had a heart the size of Mount Everest. He would always do whatever was in his power to help anyone. The ultimate evidence of this is the fact that all three of his daughters moved to Colorado to be closer to him and their wonderful and caring mother Maggie. For anyone that worked closely with Fordy, their lives have been forever affected by his influence. He was unwavering in his moral conviction and his integrity was without question. Ever the Devil's advocate, Fordy would often switch points of view (regardless of his own belief) just to ensure that a discussion produced worthy results. How many times have we entered one of those discussions with the belief we possessed absolute clarity of the subject only to have Fordy prove or convince us otherwise? At the very least, you left one of those discussions with your head spinning. He was a wonderful mentor to many of us, taking whatever time was necessary to help solve a problem or to lend the wisdom of his years of experience. Unknowingly, Fordy had a way of garnering the affection of almost every person he ever met, a trait a select few on this Earth possess. I know he always brought a smile to my face when he entered the room. So take a moment to honor his memory. Remember what you learned from him or what he may have done for you. Remember the humorous moments and the tough times we weathered with him. Most of all, live your life to the fullest. That's the way Fordy would have wanted it. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his father, George Stevens; loving wife, Maggie Lundberg Stevens; daughters, Rebecca Stevens, Abby Laverick and her husband Garvin, Brit Baldwin and her husband Christopher; granddaughter, Kennedy Baldwin; siblings, Tee Wall, George Stevens, Jr., Amy Stevens and Ellie Stevens. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sally Potter Stevens. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Boston.
