It is written that when life begins it is like an open book with blank pages; each day that we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death an await that great getting up morning. Brenda Nell Brown was born August 13, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to Clifford and Grace Frierson-Jackson. She was the baby of six children and was preceded in death, by her parents and two siblings Donald Pierce and Fred Jackson. She was raised in the Catholic Church and took communion at an young age. As a woman of faith she attended Praise and Glory Tabernacle Church. Born and raised in Denver, CO she graduated from West High School in 1967. She attended the University of Northern Colorado. Her desire was to become a Physical Education teacher. When she learned of the many swim classes necessary to obtain this degree, she immediately changed her major to Accounting. She united in holy matrimony to Lewis T. Brown Jr. on March 11, 1970 in Denver, CO. The couple loved to take road trips across country, fishing and trips to the mountains. To this union three children were born Ronnette, Marsha and Lewis III. After 13 years, this marriage was dissolved. Later her five grandchildren, Mel, Aaric, Darian, Raquel, Isaiah and great-grandchild, Jaedyn were an additional source of joy and pride to her life. She spent her early professional years as an accountant and later worked for Continental Airlines. She retired after twenty five years as a Reservations Sales Agent. She truly enjoy the traveling benefits which allowed her to visit many close family and friends and explore the world. Her most memorable vacation, being her trip to Germany in 1989. Most of her precious time was spent tending her beautiful gardens along with her friends Laurette and Julia. All were a part of a gardening club. She loved to read science fiction and fantasy books. She also enjoyed knitting and created the most beautiful and exceptional gifts. Brenda was an dedicated ""Trekkie"". She was fortunate to see the latest Star Trek movie, ""Into Darkness"" with her son Lewis and friend Julia, before she passed. Her closest friends are Laurette Potter, Syleta Davis, Julia Wright, Sharann Wilson, and Toyce Mitchell. All of these women were able to create lifetime memories and shared a bond that lasted a lifetime. They will all miss the time shared together. Brenda Nell Brown, 63, departed this life on May 28, 2013, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Ronnette (Darrin) Turner, Marsha (Aaron) Witt and Lewis Brown; five cherished grandchildren, Mel James, Aaric Witt, Darian Turner, Raquel Turner, and Isaiah Witt; one adorable great-grandson Jaedyn James; and beloved siblings, Clarence Pierce, Vera McDonald and Thomas Jackson. A host of nieces and nephews and many friends. She is loved and will be dearly missed! A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 PM and the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM, both at the Horan & McConary Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado.
