Brenda Pease

December 31, 1952 — July 21, 2022

Aurora, CO

Brenda Lee Pease, age 69, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Aurora, Colorado, on July 21, 2022.

Born on December 31, 1952, in Utah, Brenda grew up in states around the country, living with her family in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and California. She attended the University of California, Irvine, where she briefly studied pre-med. She soon met George M. Pease, whom she married in 1973. The couple spent most of their lives living and raising their two daughters in Aurora, Colorado.

Brenda worked for over 30 years at Mission Viejo Elementary School in Aurora and retired as the beloved school librarian in the summer of 2021. She was a member of Holy Love Lutheran Church, where both of her daughters were married.

Brenda was an avid reader and taught all of her grandchildren to read at early ages. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and birdwatching in her beautiful backyard, watching British films and television series, playing piano, scrapbooking, and sharing recipes with dear friends as part of her monthly cooking club. She was a lover of all animals and will be deeply missed by her rescue schnauzer, Mabel.

Brenda leaves behind her husband of almost 50 years, along with her daughters Erin (Jason) Jacob and Kelli (Richard Blair) Browning, and her four grandchildren: Eric (17), Brayden (17), Brooklynn (17) and Carter (14). Brenda is also survived by her father, Billy F. Burke (Bakersfield, CA), and brother Bill (Ida) Burke (Ventura, CA). Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary J. Burke.

She will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who is forever loved and deeply missed.

A small service and gathering will take place Monday, August 1, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM at Joy Lutheran Church, 7051 Parker Hills Ct, Parker, CO 80138. As a way to honor Brenda’s love of reading, her grandchildren ask that you bring a new children’s book to be donated in her memory to Joyful Mission Preschool.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Denver Dumb Friends League at http://www.ddfl.org
