Brenda Mary Hanwell Waalwyk, 85, passed away February 22, 2012, at Littleton Adventist Hospital, Littleton, Colorado. She was born May 26, 1926, in Kings Lynn, England. Brenda was an Avon Representative and then was promoted to District Manager. She held that position for 15 years â until her retirement. She was a Circle of Excellence recipient and loved her job. In Illinois she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and spent the last 25+ as a member of The Rock of Southwest â both CONVERGE WORLDWIDE churches. Brenda was active in her church and along with her husband, Dick, started the A-Team Ministry for Seniors. Her passions in Ministry included the Food Bank, which she almost weekly helped to supply, and encouraging missionaries around the world. She was close friends with several and considered it an honor to pray for them and to host them in her home when they came back on furlough. Brenda was an avid reader who would have to limit herself to one or one and a half books a day! She loved mysteries and always read the newspaper to keep up with current events. While living in Chicago, Brenda became a Cubs fan. When she moved to Denver, she almost immediately became a huge Broncos fan â due to the fact that Denver did not have a professional baseball team at the time. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Gail Price and her husband Tim, of Littleton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Flora Hanwell; a son, John S. Waalwyk; and her husband, John Richard Waalwyk. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, March 2nd, at 12:30 pm, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd. Please gather at Staging Area ""B"" by 12:20pm. Memorial contributions made in Brenda's honor are suggested to The Rock of Southwest Missionary Program, 10393 West Alamo Place, Littleton, Colorado 80127.
