Brennan Michael Camp

January 23, 2012 — February 13, 2012

Brennan Michael Camp was welcomed into the world on 11:36 am on January 23, 2012 following an uncomplicated 40 week, 5 day pregnancy. He arrived at 7 pounds and 6 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long, bearing a strong resemblance of his father. As they say, the best things in life are worth waiting for, as this day was close to three years in the making. It was readily apparent that little Brennan had a gentle, sweet soul and had thrived since the day he was born. Brennan was named after his father and his father's great uncle, who served and lost his life in World War II. Tragically, at just 20 days young, Brennan was diagnosed with appendicitis following exploratory surgery, an exceedingly rare diagnosis for someone his age. He underwent a successful appendectomy, however went on to develop an overwhelming and ultimately fatal systemic infection. He passed away in the arms of his family in peace the morning of February 13th. Brennan spent the majority of his life safely at home in his mother's arms. Although his time on Earth was far too short, he did develop several nicknames, our favorites being ""Squeeze Box"" or ""Squeezy."" Although we will never be able to make sense of this loss, we both feel incredibly blessed to have experienced the joy of meeting our baby boy. We find comfort in knowing Brennan is now at peace in the arms of his grandmother, Marci Griffin. Brennan is survived by his parents, Amy and Mike Camp, his uncle and aunts, Scott and Jill Griffin and Leslie Griffin, his cousins, Reese, Keegan, and Nellie Griffin, and Mason Barnes, and his grandparents, Marcia Camp, David Camp and Polk Griffin. A Memorial Service for Brennan will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado. Memorial contributions can be made to the Brennan Michael Camp Memorial Fund, care of Wells Fargo, 10900 S. Parker Road, Parker, CO 80134. The fund will make donations in Brennan's name to Children's Hospital.
