Brent Lee Miller, 45, passed away December 29, 2008. Brent, the second of five children, was born on August 23, 1963 to Allan and Ellen Miller in Idaho Falls, ID. In 1964, they moved to International Falls, MN, in 1969, to Snowflake, AZ, in 1974, to Fortuna, CA, and to Montana in 1976. Brent graduated from Butte High in 1981 and continued his education at Montana Tech, in Butte, graduating with a Master's in Geophysics in 1988. He was named an Outstanding Alumni for Montana Tech in 1997. His first job with Unocal took him to Casper, WY and then Lafayette, LA, where he met his loving wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Cantrelle. In 1997 they began their lives together in Littleton, CO, where he began employment with Tom Brown, Inc. He was employed with Encana Oil & Gas at the time of his death. He was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), Denver Geophysical Society, Southwest Louisiana Geophysical Society (SWLGS) and the Dead Yeast Society Homebrewers Club of Lafayette, LA. Making friends was one of Brent's best qualities and he left wonderful funny memories wherever he lived. Brent was always a leader among his brothers and sisters and all will miss his booming laugh and wonderful sense of humor. He was a ""rock"" and always spoke truth into situations. Brent is survived by his wife, Liz; children Jacquelyn & Joshua; his parents, Ellen & Allan Miller of Forsyth, MT; sisters, Dawn (Bob) Stewart of Centennial, CO, Gail (Scott) Staffanson of Sydney, MT; brothers, Brian (Betty) and Jon (Leigh-Ann) of Butte, MT.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; aunt, Donna Capp; cousins, Cathy Strickland, Kelly Morris, Kirk Morin, Mike Kelley, Russ Kelley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Porter Hospital Foundation - Kids Alive!, 7995 E. Prentice Ave., Suite 204, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 or the Brent Miller Charitable Memorial Fund, c/o First Bank of Colorado for the education of Brent's children. A public visitation will be held 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, 6337 S. Robb Way, Littleton. Burial pending in Lafayette, LA.
