Bruce Gillick

Bruce Lester Gillick, age 58, a resident of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1957 in Tell City, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Theola Gillick, and his oldest brother, Richard Gillick. He is survived in death by his wife Barbara Gillick of Highlands Ranch, CO; brothers, Mike Gillick, Cotopaxi, CO; Steve Gillick, Jacksonville, FL; Joe Gillick, Princeton, TX, Paul Gillick, Madisonville, KY; sisters, Susan Stambrosky, Sarasota, FL, and Sharon Krayer, Clearwater, FL, and two stepsons, Timothy Sellers and Mitchell Sellers, both of Highlands Ranch, CO. Bruce earned a BS degree from Indiana State University in Safety Engineering, and held his CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification. Throughout his career, Bruce held several positions as a safety professional, but spent the last 11 years as Director of Environmental Health and Safety at MarkWest Energy Partners in Denver, CO. In 2014, he served as Safety and Health Committee Chairman for the GPA (Gas Processors Association). Bruce had a fabulous sense of humor, and cared deeply about his family, friends, and co-workers. He loved hiking and biking in Colorado, and enjoyed and loved his two English Springer Spaniels. He loved watching horse races, and other sports, rarely missing a basketball game from his beloved Indiana Hoosiers. He was a great husband, brother, stepfather and friend to all who interacted with him. Services will be held on Friday January 22, 2016, two o'clock in the afternoon at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122, reception following. To honor Bruce, contributions can be made to one of two charities that were important to him; The Michael J. Fox Foundation (for research for Parkinson's Disease) www.michaeljfox.org or The Denver Dumb Friends League (Denver animal shelter), www.ddfl.org.
