Bruce Jay Stringer

July 28, 1940 — July 28, 2013

Born in Hammond, Indiana on July 28, 1940 and left this world on his 73rd birthday, July 28, 2013. Bruce grew up in the Hoosier state and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 1962. He was a much loved dad and patriarch of his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lee; Daughters Susan (Mike) Finnefrock and Aimee Daniel, both of Arvada; his five grandchildren Ryan, Adam and Bryn Finnefrock, and Brianna and Brady Daniel. Bruce's twin sister, Barbara, preceded in him in death. Bruce's work life involved extensive travel throughout the western and southern states and he retired from Sinclair Oil Corporation after 30 years as a Marketing Manager. He loved both participatory and spectator sports and was an avid golfer for many years. He won many golf tournaments and especially enjoyed playing golf with his grandsons. His grandchildren all loved hearing all his childhood stories. Bruce also enjoyed reading and faithfully followed both the Broncos and nuggets (in good years and bad). Bruce loved traveling and had taken many trips with Lee. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Lakewood Elks. Bruce had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered with great love for his loyalty and his devotion to his family and friends. A Celebration of Life with a reception to follow will take place Saturday, August 3, 2013, 11:30 am, 7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4500 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
