Burton T. Stevens, 83, a resident of Greenwood Village, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2012 after a long illness. He was born on April 15, 1929 in Lexington, NE, and was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He moved his family to Aurora, CO, in 1953 and was employed with Cummins Power, Inc. for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1989 as a top salesman for the company. Burton is survived by his loving wife Irene; a son James (Elaine) Stevens of Lincoln, NE; a son Michael (Catherine) Stevens of Ft. Dodge, IA; a daughter Lori Monk of Aurora, CO, and his stepson Andy Dupree of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer (T.J.) Marx of Lincoln, NE; Jeffrey (Valerie) Stevens of Eagle, NE; Angela (Nick) Hoffman of Aurora, CO; Tom (Nicky) Monk of Aurora, CO; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Rebecca Stevens, his first wife Ella Stevens, and his two grandsons Mark and Matthew Stevens. A viewing will be held between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM on May 13, 2012, at Horan & McConaty located at 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO, with a funeral service on May 14, 2012, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
