Retired Commercial Realtor & Civic Leader Allan Hackstaff of Cherry Hills Village, CO passed away at his home May 21, 2004. He was 77. The beloved husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife Kathleen, sons Rus (wife Laura), Jim, and Donald (wife Karen) all of Denver, daughters Judy Forsha (husband Mike) of Golden, and Mary Logan (husband Robert) of Durango. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Robert P. Hackstaff of Denver, by 10 grandchildren with an 11th on the way, and by numerous other relatives. Mr. Hackstaff was preceded in death by his parents Cyrus A. Hackstaff and Mary Y. Hackstaff both of Denver. Allan, a native of Colorado, was born January 13, 1927 and was raised at 801 Adams. He attended Teller Grade School, Gove Middle School, Denver East High School, the United States Navy, and the University of Colorado where he graduated in 1950. He was a civic minded person who loved the City of Denver, and the State of Colorado. Allan contributed greatly to the prosperity of the community throughout his career that spanned 32 years at the Frederick Ross Company, a commercial real estate firm. He retired as Chairman of the Board in 1982. Hunting, fly-fishing, playing the piano, dancing and improving the landscape were the hobbies he enjoyed most, although spending time with his wife and children was his true passion. A Catholic Memorial Mass for Allan will be Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 10:00 am at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO.
