Calvin Lon Timpe 67 went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday July 15, 2021 in Aurora Colorado. A Celebration of Life will be held July 31, 2021 10:00 am at Horan and McConaty on Parker Road and Dartmouth Avenue in Aurora Colorado.
Calvin was born November 14, 1953 in Denver Colorado and taken home to Sterling Colorado by his loving parents Dr. Lon and Mollie Timpe. He attended schools in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1972. He then attended Northeastern Junior College where he graduated in 1974. Calvin went on to continue his education at the University of Wyoming in Laramie Wyoming where he graduated in May of 1978 with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He also received his Doctor of Pharmacy bin Colorado.
He was active in 4-H and FFA as a youth where he held the office of Vice President for the South Platte Valley District. He was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where his mom Mollie was his Scout Leader. He would help his dad Lon work cattle and other calls to help out. He enjoyed that time. When in high school he worked for George Korrey working in the potatoes fields and pumpkin patches.
After graduation from Wyoming, Calvin moved to Rocky Ford Colorado in July of 1978 where he started his career as a Pharmacist. Calvin later moved to Denver and worked for Albertsons Pharmacy for 35+ years until his retirement in the fall of 2019.
Calvin enjoyed going to the Rockies training camps in Arizona and went to as many Rockies games as he could. He would take his sister Ruth and her family to share his love for baseball with them. He loved going to the mountains and taking the different train rides there was and even had a trip planned to ride through Canada in May of 2022 on the train. Calvin got the love for trains from his dad. Calvin enjoyed his many trips to Costa Rica where he learned Spanish and met his girlfriend Norma. As a child he enjoyed collecting stamps and after retiring he took up the hobby again of stamp collecting and volunteering at the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library where he spent lots of his time.
Calvin is survived by his sister and friend Ruth Klein (Jerald) Sterling, Colorado, his nephews Andrew Klein (Rob) Denver, Colorado, Bronson Klein (Matthew) Beaverton, Oregon, Girlfriend Norma Herrera Arias of Costa Rica, brother Allan Timpe, Abbie and Arthur of California, sister Laural Brownell (Mike) Fleming, Colorado, Craig Brownell (Jill) and Ethan, Audrey Brownell, Gabe and Caitlyn all of Sterling Colorado and numerous relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Lon and Mollie Timpe, birth mom and her husband Anna Mae Hawkins and Robert Lancaster, Grandparents Sam and Marie Rediess, and Karl and Mary Timpe along with other family and friends
Calvin will be sadly missed by those who truly loved him.
