A beloved Father, Grandfather, and Loving Companion, Bill, 74, of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed May 27, 2014. Bill graduated from Littleton High School in 1958 and Denver University in 1962. Bill was an honest, thoughtful, and caring person who conducted himself with the utmost integrity and excellence in every endeavor. He displayed these characteristics throughout his time both as a Navy officer and as the owner/proprietor of Steele Tires. His successful career in the US Navy spanned over 23 years, serving six years active duty and the remainder in the Naval Reserve, where he attained the rank of Captain. During his active duty service, Bill flew as a navigator in several different types of aircraft. After he transitioned to the reserves, Bill started his own automotive tire and mechanical service company in Castle Rock, Colorado. Through skill and determination, he grew his business into a successful company that stayed true to its foundation of high-quality, personal service and uncompromising loyalty to customers. Steele Tires has thrived as a locally- owned business for over four decades in the image of its proud owner. As great of an officer and business owner as Bill was, he was an even better Father, Grandfather, and companion. He doted over his daughter, Leanne, and his two wonderful and spirited grandchildren, Amanda and Brian. They were absolutely the loves of his life, and he would do whatever he could to support them. Bill served as a bedrock foundation for his family as they moved throughout the country during their continuing service in the US Air Force. He could also be counted upon for sage advice and support that covered a variety of topics. Additionally, he was a loving companion and friend to Pamela Catlin, with whom he shared a number of delightful years and special memories. Bill was also quite close with his extended family, frequently providing loving support and encouragement. His son-in-law and son-in-law's family held Bill in the highest esteem and were proud to join with his family 18 years ago. For anyone who ever had the ability to know Bill, he will be sorely missed. We can only be grateful to have had a truly special person like him in our lives. We love you! A Celebration of Life in his honor will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, beginning at 5:00 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly), in Centennial, Colorado.
